what the hell is that thing?
So the little effigy that is riding the mechanical fish. thats Flintabetty Flonaton. I think thats how you spell his name. In anycase he is the reason why Flin Flon has such an odd name. You see this Flintabetty guy is actually a character in a short work of fiction. The novel was read extensively by the first resource exploiters in the area. It allegedly was the only book they had in their supplies. Therefore influnced the explorers to name their claim Flin Flon, after the main character. Thats the story behind the name at least what I remember of it. I read the whole story of the town christening on the back of a menu over a very hung-over breakfast. Please forgive me if I have misssed any key notes.
